Phai Island
Koh Phai Island, or Bamboo Island, is a charming hidden spot about 21 kilometers west of Pattaya. This rugged, wooded island features rocky cliffs and a lighthouse perched at the top. As a protected natural area managed by the Royal Thai Navy, visitors need to bring their own food and water. Reaching the island takes about two hours by boat from Pattaya. It’s a favorite for divers, boasting sheltered dive sites with a mix of vibrant hard and soft corals. The best time to visit is during the cool, dry season from November to February, when the weather is perfect for enjoying the beach.
Rin Island
Koh Rin Island is a top spot for diving, famous for its rich marine life and gorgeous underwater scenery. Part of the Far Island group, it sits 10 km south of Koh Lan and is flanked by two smaller islands, North Rock and South Rock. With a range of dive sites, each offering something unique, it’s great for divers of all skill levels. Sheltered from strong winds, the waters are calm and clear, creating perfect conditions for diving. Visibility averages between 10 and 20 meters, making it ideal for underwater photography and exploration.
